If you are lucky enough to have a solid state drive (SSD), you will be well aware of storage problems. Even a large disk drive can find itself short of space after a year or two’s use. Some games are also very large and some can require several gigabytes of storage space. Old style mechanical disk drives are big and cheap, but many people still have problems with storage space because the size of digital media like photos, videos and music is also growing. Finding out what is using the most space is an easy task in the Windows 10 Settings app. Although disk drives have grown in size, so have our files and there never seems to be enough space. You don’t need to fire up the save after every mod, but it’s worth checking a few times during the process to make sure everything’s working. What I like to do is create a new, unmodified game, get somewhere like Riverwood and then create a save that I can use for testing. It’s also recommended to do a clean install of Skyrim and start a new game, especially if you’re going to be throwing a lot of mods into the mix.
